Once upon a time there was a boy named Greg and a girl named Sarah. And they fell in love. After a while Greg knew that he wanted to marry Sarah so with the help of some trusty friends he soon hatched a plan.
Sarah was impatient to know when he would propose so he told her when he bought the ring and that she would know a proposal was coming because she would find hints. Sarah then kept a watchful eye out for hints.
One day as she was getting ready to go to class she found some personalized m&ms in her cupboard and on her bed and in her backpack. A note that confirmed Greg's love accompanied the ones on her bed. This of course made Sarah very excited as she anticipated the upcoming proposal.
The next day Greg brought over a small package to give to Sarah. It was the most delightful and adorable Nativity and a letter from her beloved.
One the next day Greg presented her with yet another gift and letter. This gift was a board game enjoyed by both of them.
Next came an adventure book for them to fill. These thoughtful gifts made Sarah tremendously happy but she was growing anxious because she really wanted to be engaged to the amazing Greg already!
On the morrow, Sarah received a final present from her true love. She was given a framed copy of the Proclamation to the World and another kind note for her. Shortly after she received this gift she had to go to work and she knew that Greg was also working that night so she wouldn't be able to spend time with him. However, she did have something to look forward to: a bonfire with some friends.
However, at work there was a ridiculous amount of complications. Not only was there a ton of stuff to do, Sarah was a nervous wreck because she was suspicious about the bonfire. She was afraid to get her hopes up that it would lead to an engagement and worried about it the whole time she was at work.
Meanwhile, after Greg dropped Sarah off at work, he got ready. He had a thermos, which he filled with hot water, hot chocolate mix, marshmallows, sticks for roasting said marshmallows, starbursts, a blanket, firewood, and cups. He traveled up the mountain to Vivian Park which, not coincidentally, was the first place Sarah and he had met. As it turned out, the bonfire with friends was just a clever ruse to get Sarah to the mountains and her friends were just to drop her off there and then leave on pain of death. So Greg drove up to the mountain, built a fire, roasted some marshmallows and waited for his love.
Remember how work was complicated for Sarah? Well, it turns out that it was so complicated she ended up working forty five minutes later than she thought she would. This left her so tired that she thought that she would just go home and take a nap until Greg got off of work (even though she had some suspicions about the bonfire, she didn't suspect Greg was lying about his work schedule. Go figure). However, she had some friends who were very adamant that she should go to the bonfire, which convinced Sarah that she would indeed be getting engaged that night.
Remember how Sarah didn't question Greg's work schedule? She thought that he would show up to the bonfire late to propose to her. Meanwhile, he was really freezing on the mountain hoping that she would get there soon and sending occasional death threats to the friends who promised to bring her on time. Finally, Sarah arrived and the friends who brought her disappeared into the darkness. Greg brought her to the fire, told her he loved her, as well as many other nice things and that he was cold, and proposed to her. Sarah said she loved him and yes, she would marry him. After a while they both decided they were cold and left the mountain to go get warm. They found warmth at the mall and got some food, because they were hungry as well. They then called family, celebrated with roommates and planned to get married on May 17. And they lived happily ever after.
Aww, I love this! I love reading about proposals! Especially when everything does not go perfectly. It makes it more real. I'm happy you had such a cute proposal!
