Knope is dope but...

I love Leslie Knope. She is a fierce, amazing women who in many ways symbolizes hope and empowered women. I even was doing that embarrassing thing we pretend we don't do where you fantasize about which celebrity you'd want to meet and I thought I might actually cry if I saw Amy Poehler, who I actually think is pretty cool as a person, because in the really eerie political times seeing the ray of hope that is Leslie Knope (coupled with the fact that she is actually Amy Poehler who I can't actually approach since she is a person who deserves not to be pestered by fans) might overwhelm me. To be fair, ever since my pregnancy and birth of my first child I do cry easier than I wish.
However, Ben might be too good for her. Put down your pitchforks! Before you riot let me elaborate.
He isn't inherently too good for her, as she is a goddess (not just when camping) but because of how she doesn't prioritize their relationship. For the most part I think Leslie can do no wrong but how she treats her family (and sometimes her friends) is not okay. I get that she makes up for it in some ways with constant thoughtful gifts and various other grand displays of love, but at the end of the day you show and preserve love by making sure your family comes first. To paraphrase The Devil Wears Prada (it's on TV a lot, don't judge) the phone calls you always take, and the place you spend all your time is the relationship you're in. In Leslie's case, that is work. Ben is always on the back burner. And even Leslie Knope could not deal with the level of work she does and raise triplets. Ben and Leslie are amazing people and exactly the type of people you want working for you because work is their life.
Ben does share some blame but really Leslie needs to step up. Ben plans an amazing anniversary date that he shares with Jerry because Leslie can't be pried away from work. I love Leslie and Ben and I hate how little they are together on screen after they get married.
They both suck when it comes to their kids if we're being honest. I can think of four references of the triplets after they are born in the last two seasons. I know it's typical for TV shows to pretend children just magically disappear when they're not needed for the story line but that doesn't stop it from being annoying. It would take all of super Leslie's energy to take of them. I only have one baby and let me tell you if I had three there is no physical way I would ever have an official career until all three of them were out of the house. Ben or Leslie should have stayed home with them.
   Ben and Leslie forever!
